Overall, not great… While this series is much better than STD which is a complete train wreck, there is very little regard for Star Trek cannon in this series and in particular Spock’s portrayal. While I liked the Pike character from STD, he simply doesn’t compare to the Pike from TOS even with the larger canvas. I am, however, interested to see how they develop Number 1 in the seasons that follow. Overall, not impressed with the visuals or the overall story telling. The writing is simply not up to snuff and this is not great science fiction, unlike the TOS.
