I’d give it a 3.5 if I could. This is NOT a bad film. Based off of likes and reviews I expected this to be terrible. I like the concept I just don’t like how the story goes for them going into the pyramid over an obviously destroyed robot (that they got from NASA? makes no sense why NASA would loan them that) and them getting lost. Seriously there’s 4 paths (5 of them) they could’ve just split up and boom one of them would’ve found the exit when they were back tracking (plot hole). If they had the budget for better actors, props, and some story editing it could’ve been pretty great imo. I can’t really criticize this movie over archaeologists bc idk what that entails. I think some of the hate is because it just doesn’t have a happy ending. Unlike other terribly rated films i feel like this one explains everything for you. Except for how the soldier knew to navigate the pyramids which has supposedly be buried for thousands of years but maybe it’s hinted at the end that there’s always been some type of hidden entrance.

In my opinion, I don’t feel like this wasn’t a bad movie. It just lacked A LOT of explanation. I get that the whole point is the cycle of life. You find you spouse, you meet a realtor, you find your forever home, raise your kids, they get older, you die and then your kids do the same thing. It’s the fact for me though that you don’t get any explanation of what the hell the boy is, what world they’re in, why they didn’t try to understand the book, why can’t they leave but the boy can, xyz. I can deal with the ending. The acting isn’t bad. It’s just a lack of any type of explanation. Part of me thinks maybe this would’ve ended differently if they had raised the boy like their own son instead of mistreating him which you see everyone else before/at the same time as them did/or is doing the same thing.

I actually enjoyed this movie a lot more than i thought i would. 4/5 stars just because i don’t like how it’s shot. I know us young people are always on a computer or phone but we don’t ALWAYS have the camera on for no reason lol It was also just unrealistic at some points. *spoiler* like how she was googling and finding out more than the police AND kevin doesn’t have personal email? he uses his “work” email and pw for everything? nahhh.
