Rational Human Being

Did two failed film makers, using pretty much the same cast, run out of money for each of their projects and just splice two films together? Did they toss a coin to see which project was the beginning and which was the end? Is this an example of "How NOT to Make a Movie"? Just too many questions and not enough answers. One thing seems to be for certain... They duped a lot of people into holding out to the very end hoping for any tiny tidbit of an answer or a loop back to the original plot, and no one got one. Maybe it's just a lesson in disappointment, but not even a creative one.
