This review is a bit bitter sweet given the recent news about layoffs, but I still think that I should give a fair review. Though the game did start off with little in terms of content and overall polish, I still found the game very fun and engaging for many of the reasons I liked KSP 1. The procedural wings, colorable parts, visuals, and sound design are all a big plus in making the game stand out. Though there were initially quite a lot of bugs and still a lot now, the developers listened to the community and patched a majority of them, even though their progress often was far from quick. The For Science! update actually gave an engaging campaign that I enjoyed and played to completion. However, the game still needs optimization work as having many craft in one save or high part counts can slow the game to a near crawl. Even though it has been a very rough ride to now, I still have hope that the game will eventually be completed, whether that be under Take 2 or another development team. When or if KSP 2 ever reaches 1.0, it will surely be a worthy successor to KSP 1.
