Movies that envoke a physical emotional response deserve praise, especially a cynical person as I am. Not perfect, but my wife cried like a dozen times and I cried a few myself. The second half hits it out of the park in a "Pixar runs on tears" type of way (ik not Pixar, but similar concept). I've never understood imaginary friends even as kid, just wasn't a thing for me, and if it can still hit someone overly logical like me in the feels, it's gone a great job.
Also, the kids (10 & 4) loved it as well.

If the dad had died at the end, I would have balled my eyes out. May have been a dark way to run it, but can't help but notice there was an opportunity to make this legendary. Just a thought.
