They tried bravely and hard in the first half of the movie to make it work without actual Hendrix music. At one point I thought they might pull it off. But then, the whole thing just evaporated. Can’t show IoW festival because it would need his actual music. Can’t show Woodstock as would have needed actual music. There’s no reason to watch this movie. And here’s how the planning discussion for it should have gone: Person 1: “Hey, let’s make a Jimi Hendrix biopic!” Person 2: “Yeah!” But, wait. His estate will never license his music for it.” Person 1: “What, never?” Person 2: “Never.” Person 1: “Ok, screw that. We’re not making a JImi Hendrix biopic”. End of discussion.
