Maybe not every bodies cup of tea but I love this game. 4 and a Half Stars I've enjoy it a lot. Spent every free hour I have playing this game. Does it have room to grow yes. Gameplay loops is great, explore, find resources, craft, combat, expand, survive. Graphics - I've never cared about graphics but if you are expecting super realistic graphics that was not the art style of this game. You know exactly what kind of graphics you are getting because they don't hide this, they are fine. Would I want better light options for this dark game... yes. Sound/Music - Sound is fine, I usually don't play with any music anyway but for the most part this game doesn't have music. Would be nice to have a bit more. It plays at certain times, like a horde attack, invasion, a epic moment. You can go a long time between hearing music, unless you have your dwarf sing for you or your friends. Which is innovative but would be better if you could sing regardless of what you are doing and their were ALOT more songs. But as somebody who has put 1000's of hours in other crafting/survival games I put on my own music anyways so its no loss. Crafting - I wish there were more "customizations" in the crafting, like random rolls on stats and ways to enchant beyond one buff and enchant armor. You wont actually spend much time crafting items because your buildings don't need components for the most part. Building - This is where the game looses a quarter start for me. It is fine, and works but it needs a few more tweaks to make it amazing. Combat - Another quarter star loss here. I'm a dwarf if I can't have a battle were I'm not throwing axes and daggers at my enemies, tossing a goblin into a orc's face and doing some good ol fun dwarf combat. But that's what you get with combat. Its ok, there are shield bashes, kicking, pushing, rolling, and different swings of your sword and a crossbow and a bow... but Let me setup traps, use the environment (steam vents do damage enemies but not reliably and you can use the "sun" to stone trolls), but things like fall damage does nothing to enemies, dark poison isn't hurting them. We should have dwarf grenades, take some beer that your brew and throw it at the goblins like a molitive but you cant... I think they have alot of content coming so even with my 5 star I'm not going to recommend this game to my friends yet unless like them they are a dwarf at heart and have always loved the ideal of moria and are huge dwarf fortress fans... ect. Your every day survival crafter gamer will like others games besides this one.
