Frightening yes, rather analogous to 1984 when we were all afraid of totalitarianism. Today its climate change and capitalism the villains and this book lays out the potential frightening future that is probably more likely than not. Literally not as masterful as Orwell, character development not as masterful but still captivating and if you were not yet scared of the possible effects of climate change, soon will be. A very good read, not really science fiction but a glimpse into a possible future scenario that is quite possible.
