It's an intimate and non-judgmental look at two narcissistic women in their fading years. The mother spends most of her time in bed talking about her heyday and kvetching at her daughter, who cares for her, kvetches back, and talks as if she's a hot 20-something. The daughter, who wears sweaters on her head like scarves and wears her skirts upside down on her body constantly flirts with the film makers and assumes every man is in love with her - including the young boy who comes around to do some gardening, and eventually moves in, apparently because he has no home. The women spend their days talking over each other and trying to out-boast each other. The daughter wants out, because she presents caretaking, but she doesn't leave; she doesn't know how. Both women are stuck there wallowing in their pasts; it is a sad and strange look at their lives
