The primary characters in this story were Violet, Tom, and Anna. Tom's role in foiling the assassination attempt was imaginative. Anna leading the conspiracy against the bureaucratic royal staff was hilarious, even if implausible. The zinger-fest between Violet and Isobel was as entertaining as always, even as they were initially co-conspirators in the plot to secure another inheritance for Robert. My wife and loved it.
