Initially slow with idiotic characters, the film evolves slowly into subtle, ever-increasing suspense that you don’t realize you’re involved in, that is until you find yourself screaming at the characters to pay attention and look behind them and RUN!! Björn and pregnant lady could go away for the majority of the film, while Asian lady’s character and origins should have been more developed than just a DEI afterthought. That said, the initially annoying Andy transforms into a hugely multifaceted character, the role well-written and superbly acted with subtleness and depth. The actor deserves an Oscar for such an incredible performance, evolving from such a banal character at first, to an essential, fascinating individual who carries you through the rest of the story. If you can get through the initial 30 minutes, it’s a great ride with perfectly placed references back to “Prometheus” and the original “Alien”. I just wouldn’t pay more than $5 for the trip.
