I love this movie. The relationships among the close couples and friends makes me happy and rooting for love and good people winning. Odd and Stormy are the best version of young love- supportive of one another, kind, playful, friends first, and unapologetically, outlandishly in love.
I stayed interested from the first scene to the credits. Odd has a "gift", but the "ungifted" have dreams and strong senses at times too. I believe this, and so I can watch and enjoy the humor, the love, the good pace in which the storyline unfolds, all without bother over any of the things criticized elsewhere in reviews of Odd Thomas. I also discovered Poorly Drawn Boy's Magic in the Air watching this movie, a song that I very much like. I was heart broken and cried at the end. Since Anton's IRL tragic passing, this movie has only solidified as a favorite that I rewatch. The realms beyond our physical being, the darkness and the light that is integral to the Odd Thomas movie feels more meaningful taking into account Anton's starring role as Odd and untimely death. If you haven't watched this, give it a try.
