Too bad that incel rage, bad marketing and superhero fatigue has sunk this fun movie.
'The Marvels' is the best MCU movie in a very long time - it doesn't take itself too seriously, is very fast paced, doesn't bother with infinity stones and multiverse and quantum realm nonsense. And of course, if you adore any of the leads, they all get to absolutely shine in this movie - especially Brie Larson and Samuel Jackson.
Most of all, 'The Marvels' doesn't use CGI as a crutch in the fight scenes. Instead, CGI is used to enhance the beautifully choreographed fight sequences. These were very physical and I thoroughly enjoyed them (reminded me of the fights in Captain America: Winter Soldier).
This movie has the inter-galactic world-building and team dynamics of Guardians OTG Vol. 1, great combat stunts of Captain America and the fun, silly, popcorn-movie comfort of Ragnarok. If you liked any of these other movies, you would definitely love and adore The Marvels.
I hope Marvel gives this same crew another chance to redeem themselves commercially.
