What can I say? An American high-school movie? Expected as much. Of course, the protagonist is facing daddy issues and then comes late to first period, mind you, the ONLY period, and he also spots a girl singing (wow now he falls in love with her and she likes him back too!). Oh, and then he gets an addiction to social media, makes friend with the HIGHLY and when i say HIGHLY i mean it stereotyped nerd, like I get it, he's fat and a nerd, but you don't need to shove it up my face every 2 seconds. My main issue with his characterization was that he had little to no personality aside from being the self-depreciating, oversharing and the fat kid, whom nobody knows. Anyway, protagonist then changes his life, cheats on his girlfriend, and gets with some rich goth chick?? (i don't even know). Then he seduces her mom, and goes back to aformentioned girlfriend, who rejects him (as he should), so he fakes an injury sings a song, and BOOM - she likes him again! OH, and the nerd randomly gets a girlfriend, the same one who's been unaware for his existence for 17 years. As much as I expected for a denoument for a movie with so many plot points that were so barely explored.
Overall, eh movie, good for laughs but if you're looking for a non-generalized and unique movie, not really gonna recommend this.
