I appreciate that this book is based on the experiences of real-life Auschwitz prisoner Dita Kraus. Unfortunately, I only got halfway through it. Overall, I had a hard time getting into this book. I found the dialogue very dry and unnatural. Sometimes it was difficult to determine who was speaking. I feel like the author was trying to tackle too many issues and story-lines all at once, rather than focusing on the central characters. I may try reading it again sometime.
