This is the most detailed review to read if you would like to understand a little more before watching God Friended Me.
All the dislikes miss the point of the show and are very prejudiced.
So I am responding. And for the first time ever, I wrote a review.
Let's simplify and explain.....
The show doesn't care about your race, gender or religion. The show doesn't care if you're a believer or not, gay or straight, rich or poor, etc.
Some of the dislikes are based on religious beliefs (which this show is not about, and for obvious reasons the "good" people disliked it, and also because it does not "promote" their religion. Poor you, not!)
The show doesn't make you choose between the different religious beliefs that are in the show. Instead, it chooses to reveal to you what humanity is truly about.
The storylines convey that helping others is the genuine universal language and that selflessness and love are at humanity's core.
The show's characters bring to life a central truth - we are all humans and we all make mistakes in life...because...guess why...nobody is perfect. But they also show that our imperfections are what make us different and who we are.
The show highlights that it does not matter what and how you do things in life, as long as what you do comes from the heart and for the right reasons.
To those who dislike the show because you think it is based on cliches...what?? Are you suffering from narcolepsy? Everything in life is cliche! Duhhhhh.
For the sake of argument.....wait for it..your life to a king is a cliche, like your opinion should be cliche to the readers. So, please don't be shallow and buy condoms.
I veto all your negative voices because they potentially blur what the show is actually about to people who are interested in watching it.
I don't think it is the best show, but I still give it 10 out of 10!
Why?! Easy. No, really.
God Friended Me is very easy to follow and you don't have to think too hard (which is why it's relaxing). But, the show also keeps things interesting with some clues that are there for guessing, and it doesn't always end the way you thought it would.
Overall, the show keeps your attention because the concept is a very original idea (to my knowledge).
The actors are likable and you can easily find a character you might resemble and attach to - you can see a bit of yourself in their stories.
The main reason I think the show is 10/10 is simple but hard to get.
The show does want to change your beliefs. Not your religious beliefs, but your beliefs towards others, to become more selfless than you were before watching.
Which puts to sleep every religion there is. Good night, and hope this helps.
toot-a-loo.
The End
PS to the producers, writers and actors. Thank you for making God Friended Me. I enjoy watching it and I hope there are many more seasons to come!
