Lockout is a real blast from the past! Totally reminiscent of the good old days of picking up six pack, nachos and a great action video from buster for the weekend. Well that just about sums up the nineties for my girlfriend and I. Who would of thought Guy Pearce the new action hero. The movie was released back in 2012, every movie Guy Pearce makes turns out Gold and while his character (Snow) is definitely no Jack Irish in this one. The film is a totally underrated sci-fi thriller. Maggie Graces performance as (Emilie Warnock) is nothing less than a knock out as the beautiful daughter of the President of the United States. The film actually centres around Snow who finds himself wrongly convicted of “conspiracy to commit espionage against the United States.” The only way he can gain back his freedom is to rescue the daughter of the President, who’s trapped in an outer space prison that’s been overrun by its inmates. Lockout certainly has its moments and features a very decent lead performance from a very buffed Guy Pearce, who with out a doubt keeps this dull script afloat with his obvious improvisations of the script that is definitely lacking. It’s also got a couple of solid action scenes after the jail break where all the “bad guys “ go after him and the presidents daughter. I found this to be a sensational film found on Stan

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

Out of all the Episodes Phantom Menace for some reason just dose not “feel” like it’s going anywhere even though it’s really the beginning. I would like to see a Star Wars film made by Disney around the same time period of The Mandalorian which would be roughly 867 years prior. Then of course the age difference between aniken and padme is only five years. As she was just 13 years old, Natalie Portman attracted the attention of the Star Wars casting she just looked older, lucky Hayden. The Phantom Menace was really her platform to a sudden rise to stardom.

Fracture is nothing less then Intense from beginning to end. The only fault I can find with this film is what was the point of Nikki Gardeners (Rosamund Pike) and her story line, apart from looking beautiful as Willy Beachums lover. Other then that it’s a Silence of the lambs. You become genuinely concerned for Willy ( Ryan Gosling) and his involvement with Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins) as the narcissistic calculating sociopath. This film was a brilliant piece of work from a young Ryan Gosling back in 2007.
