Lockout is a real blast from the past! Totally reminiscent of the good old days of picking up six pack, nachos and a great action video from buster for the weekend. Well that just about sums up the nineties for my girlfriend and I. Who would of thought Guy Pearce the new action hero.
The movie was released back in 2012, every movie Guy Pearce makes turns out Gold and while his character (Snow) is definitely no Jack Irish in this one. The film is a totally underrated sci-fi thriller. Maggie Graces performance as (Emilie Warnock) is nothing less than a knock out as the beautiful daughter of the President of the United States. The film actually centres around Snow who finds himself wrongly convicted of “conspiracy to commit espionage against the United States.”
The only way he can gain back his freedom is to rescue the daughter of the President, who’s trapped in an outer space prison that’s been overrun by its inmates.
Lockout certainly has its moments and features a very decent lead performance from a very buffed Guy Pearce, who with out a doubt keeps this dull script afloat with his obvious improvisations of the script that is definitely lacking. It’s also got a couple of solid action scenes after the jail break where all the “bad guys “ go after him and the presidents daughter. I found this to be a sensational film found on Stan
