Thomas is a great writer and probably a kindred spirit. The US has slowly turned into a walking talking joke of a society. To say it's the laughing stock of the world does not do justice to the people who have to put up with the systematic stupidity and hidden corruption that keeps it the way it is. In years to come Franks will be likened to Chomsky and Hedges.
