Showrunners destroyed what was a good idea by casting three contestants with garbage character and no integrity. This ends up destroying the spirit of the show (as marketed) and killed my interest in watching after only 3 episodes as "team alpha" starts actively endangering the lives of the other contestants. Three other contestants depart the show in a single episode in protest. I didn't even finish the show cause it stopped being a battle against the elements and turned into "who is team alpha going to endanger next?"
Some will say "but there were no rules, they all knew what they were getting themselves into" to which I say, yes, that's all true. But I signed up to watch the show Netflix pitched to viewers - a show about teams fighting for survival against a harsh environment. I was not pitched and did not sign up to watch a group of humans debase themselves for money in an exploitative experiment of tribalism and interpersonal violence. There's a difference between a show about humans surviving nature and a show about humans surviving each other -- I have little interest in the latter.
