2 episodes in and I'm loving it. I love Gran-Gran giving us the lore drop in episode one lol. The bending is done well. I like the casting. The acting isn't the greatest so far but I'm hoping it'll get better with time and the actors getting more familiar with each other. Sokka and Zuko are doing good imo. I'm glad this isn't a carbon copy of the children's cartoon. In this live action, people can die and that creates a greater sense of urgency. I'll update as I watch more episodes.

I turned it off once the son and his friend show up at the parents' house because the college-age children look about as old as the parents. When I looked up the actors it makes sense, the mom and dad are only 8 & 10 years older in real life. So mom and dad are like 35 years old when the movie filmed, and the son and his friend are 27 🙄 The actors playing the son and the friend both look like they're in their 30s. The gay men who like this movie are likely desensitized after having seen a lot of the daddy porn available, which for porn acting is fine if the son's friend looks 36 and the dad is 39.

I feel like most people who go to watch this did so because they were tricked. If it didn't ride the coattails of Barbie's marketing, this would do the same as Indiana Jones. Acting was excellent. My son and I left at the 2 hour mark. We were done and felt like we didn't need to see the rest of the movie. Neither of us care how the rest of the movie plays out or what happens. The bomb scene was short and was only for the test they did at Los Alamos (maybe 10-20 min at most and included a countdown as the characters hope it works). So why does it matter that it was filmed in IMAX? Nothing about this movie made me care it was in IMAX. This movie is all about close ups and dialogue and heavy music that is usually in the background of trailers to make things feel suspenseful. The movie focuses on Communism and Russia. It's not really about WW2 Germany or Japan.
