I just watched the first episode. Cannot watch any others. Forget the 'reality show' persona, forget the boyfriend/now husband and the awkward car ride and forget anything not doing with designing. It was the actual design process that was frustrating to me. There was no budget discussed? No plan in place? It felt like she was making it up as she went along. They discuss (mid-project as it appeared on the show) the fireplace well into the show. The cost of the fireplace shocks her friend. Then she says into the camera that people just don't understand the costs of things. Of course they don't if you don't layout the plan ahead of time. There's a reason that other design shows on HGTV show what their actual plans are - the only surprises are as they go along that was unexpected. Not the cost of something that should have been part of a project plan. That was frustrating. Doing that 'design as you go' may work for your own flipping house projects (though I do remember a lot of issues regarding budgets when they did that) - it doesn't work when you're dealing with other people's money. It's your job to educate the client ahead of time. Had some hopes for this show but not planning to watch any other episodes.
