Although a few of the characters differ radically from the book series this film deserves a viewing. It has some very amusing bits and some adventurous scary moments. Nancy (Bonita ) and Ted (Frankie ) work well together. VG rating!

Good solid family entertainment. Nice photography with many Canadian backdrops used Vancouver and Western locals.

This is a period piece that is excellent in so many areas. The cast is outstanding. All the minor parts are played with such care and precision with great attention to detail. The main parts played by identical twins - the Mauchs are done so effortlessly. The sets are incredible, the costumes so perfect reflecting the times. Director William Keighley has the right touch moving things along at a good pace. Claude Rains brings an evil tone to the story and a young Errol Flynn adds much action to his role. A+++
