Elmer Kelton's books are very good. Great story teller, in this one you get to see a glimpse of two peoples whose way of life are headed in opposite directions.One, while being discriminated against is experiencing freedom. The other is losing his freedom. Elmer Kelton does a masterful job of telling this important story.
