I tuned into this show with great excitement. I have in the past enjoyed so much of Jeff Daniels work. So it is with much sadness I have to say, this was absolutely unequivocally awful. For Daniels character, he adopted a southern accent, which my opinion was the most fake sounding I have ever heard. Even if I set that aside, the main character is supposed to be this highly intelligent businessman, who has built an empire. Perhaps that’s not what he’s supposed to be, maybe he’s Trump with a southern accent? In any case, he comes off as nothing more than a loud mouthed buffoon. The other characters aren’t any more believable. Watching this was excruciatingly painful. I couldn’t even bear to watch the entire first episode.
