Mufasa: The Lion King (2024)
Review by T
This was a good Disney movie, we enjoyed the artistic style, stunning landscapes, good CGI and how it engaged the audience with its lion energy.
It's a prequel of the youthful Mufasa's story including his friends and the origin of Scar. The narrative is actually relayed as a story told to Simba's daughter, Timon, and Pumbaa by Rafiki.
Though it's rated PG, there are some dark themes but in the end it explains a lot about Mufasa's rise to the throne hence it's the sequel of how we get to the Lion King of 1994.
The story was soulful and the pace was good, it didn't stall. However it lacks the charm, charisma & comedy of the original animation, this movie will not make you roar with laughter.
The style is somewhat impersonal and serious. The original songs struggled to meet the high expectations of the first two movies, these new songs can be described as uninspiring & forgettable and also a couple of movie mistakes can be spotted too.
Overall this adventure/musical movie still exceeded expectations and the Lion King triumphantly wins again.
The temptation to see the Lion King is just a whim away, a whim away, aweem away.
Bye bye.
