Overwatch 2 is a great experience for newcomers, but I believe players of the first game wanted something more. As a OW1 player the experience is pretty much the same with a few exceptions:
1. It's easier to find a match
2. 5v5, not 6v6 (only one tank). This makes the matches a lot slower with more deaths as there is much more damage to be absorbed by the rest of the team
3. Addition of fun new robot game mode that is like two teams fighting over the same payload
4. Some great maps from OW1 are missing :(
5. Unfortunately, the game suffers from the introduction of a battle pass, which requires you to pay for rewards that you used to be able to get via achievements/experience lootboxes in OW1. Skins, characters and cool in-game customizations are off limits unless the pay a small fortune. This is undoubtedly the worst aspect of the game and a blatant money grab by an underperforming Blizzard company
Overall, I think more could have been done to explore the characters and add to the world that I fell in love with 6 years ago, but it is still a game I will enjoy playing for quite some time
