I just saw the first episode of The Singapore Grip and what an insult. The author must've been thick as 2 planks for not knowing about other cultures before portrayed in such a disgusting way. Everybody knows what the British were like but it was disgusting. J.G.Farrell should've learned to research before writing such a disgusting book. However the book was written many years ago, but the producers are responsible for making this disgusting and insulting farcical drama without doing any research. When has a yogi ever become a snake charmer? Or yogi sing a religious song of another religion? And why would a yogi "who gives up all comforts of life to become a yogi", eat a live snake, or entertain people? Mostly Sikhs were employed in the army, but they'd never shave their beard. How insulting is this to Sikhs, as they fought wars for Britain?
