Wilkerson has an ability to take a profound academic thesis and present it in a highly readable non academic narrative form. Though I might quibble with some of her assumptions, by the end of the book she had won me over, and I felt I had been given greater depth of understanding of the etiology, history, and the reasons for our current political foment. Years ago, when I read Wilkerson’s Warmth of Other Suns, I was unable to put it down. It became my companion and friend until I was finished with it. Wilkinson is a fine thinker and perhaps even better presenter.
