I've been playing DMC5 for a little over a week now having enjoyed other titles in the series..first one I still consider to be the best. The game is quite repetitive following the same format on each level(fight enemies, collect orbs, some more enemies, some more orbs, make a phone call, fight end-stage boss). Nero is quite boring to use once you use up his interchangeable arms, V is a decent character and Dante has a plethora of skill-sets and weapons(however some weapons are introduced so late in the game you barely get to use them). Honestly, once I unlocked Dante I was able to continuously use the same weapons(motorcycle/rocket launcher gun) and button mash to receive S-SS ratings for each enemy obstacle. Using one fighting style over another may give you the impression they may be different but ultimately it is a useless feature resulting in same outcome. The environments are dizzying at times where the background all looks the same, color and all, and distinguishing where you can jump and where you can't makes no sense at times. Graphics are nice(as they should be on a 4th generation platform). Levels were boring overall though. I was quite surprised to see how highly-rated this game was on some major Internet gaming websites. Some sites giving it anywhere between 9 and 9.5. This game really deserves between a 6.5 to 7, tops. There is nothing revolutionary about it, nothing great about the barely-there story and is nothing more than previous entries in the series.
