It wasn't a bad movie... per say.
The movie was beautiful to look at, the main lead and the supporting cast did excellent in their roles as believable people in a distant future, and the soundtrack was solid due in part of Hans Zimmer's genius. As a fan of original stories, I gotta give credit to the creators behind "The Creator" for trying to give the audience something original rather than deliver up the typical shlock of sequels, prequels, and retcons in today's cinema industry. That being said, I don't think this is a movie for anyone looking for something smart and groundbreaking.
I only saw the movie once, and it frustrated me how many good ideas it had that could've been explored better, had the movie been broken into a mini series on Apple or Prime. Ideas such as the pros/cons of having advanced A.I. living alongside humans (or even governing humans), what the difference is between sentience expressed by a human and an A.I. robot, or whether or not A.I. is the next stage of human evolution.
But no, none of these ideas were even remotely acknowledged, for rather than taking a more nuanced route, the movie settles into the more comfortable, familiar good vs bad area, where the humans are the monsters and A.I. is just misunderstood.
We've seen enough of dumbed down projects like that from Marvel and Star Wars.
