I genuinely don't even know where to begin. Im going to 11th grade in 2 months it is currently the third day of summer. I received this book from a lady who was handing them out at my school months ago. I grabbed five. This title and 4 others. I recently cleaned out my room and uncovered them. This was the first of the four I'm currently reading to occupy the time, and let me just say, I have no idea how the other books are going to top this one. I just don't understand how someone can come up with such an amazing story. I am appalled it's not more popular. From the amazing plot, to the incredible imagery creating beautiful scenery, and the emotional tug it gives its readers, it is all around perfect. It was so realistic. The intense struggles that come along with grief, the mishaps of marriage and the betraying of family members. The way each individual characters misery and growth was portrayed was top tier. Made me feel like none of the characters were cut short of development. And don't even get me started on the IRONY. It was so perfect. And not to mention the way this book wasn't a cliffhanger. The ending was so satisfying and real. Families make amends and move on with life even though grief will always be there. I wish this was the book I had to write my 10th grade lit on. Would've been so much more engaging. This was the most perfect read ever, read it flat out in 2 days. If this were a movie it would be award winning. I cannot wait to recommend this to my booktok girlies!! If you love mystery, loss, and the rekindling of families then this is totally a book you should pick up. But anyhow I'm rambling... Hannah Richell if you ever see this review. Thank you so much for this incredible masterpiece.
