SLIGHT SPOILERS!
So I picked up this book because I thought it would be about a baker falling in love with someone with a plot to drive the story. What I got was a pseudo destiny curse thing ala Jacob and Renesmee from Twilight. It was kind of jarring and infuriating how Levi just pretends to be friends with Jocelyn(Joss) because his "curse" picked her to be his one and only. He is pining for her for over 5 years without once letting her know how he feels ONLY to do so when another man flirts with her. I ended up skipping most of the book because after the pool scene the level of denial of feelings and lack of communication made my soul scream and commit seppuku. I checked to see if they did end up together, which duh, and thankfully closed the book. The sheer lack of plot and stakes other than competition over Joss felt gross.
