It seemed to me that The Whale was a very dark movie both visually, musically and in story content. It is not a thriller as it is labeled in Showtime, but it is a tragedy, showing how evil slowly creeps into lives and takes over and destroys. Many of the characters in the movie are angry with their lives following their decisions to live for “self” and feed their own desires persuaded by evil not good. Ironic how it tries to take the opposite of evil-honesty, and turn it into being the only truth and meaning in life. The acting was really good, but not a movie to watch for purpose of entertainment. More useful to watch and discuss the evil/good, lies/honesty and present culture. The drive for Hollywood to make movies that try to lead people to make up their own set of right and wrong so they can feel better about “self” and make a movie with anti Christian characters raging about their lives and blaming others for their own sad lives. Choosing all about self ends up destroying lives in so many different ways and addictions-just as evil planned it all along.
