I watched this film over and over when I was younger, i have just watched it again for nostalgia and every step of the way I am in awe and aplause of the artistry, cinematography, the choice of futuristic architecture, costume design, the plants! and overall how it got brought life from it's anime counterpart. Despite Karyn Kusama not being happy with how the film got recut & reworked it's without a doubt one of my favourite action films, to me it has melancholic undertones and magnetic pacing and healthy represention of poc for it's time and you can see how much research went into every corner of this film. Ignore the horrible reviews, take an open minded chance. I love this film!
