This movie is honestly a disgrace to the Garfield franchise. My love for Garfield comes from the fact that he was raised by a single mom, to have that completely thrown away for some half baked "your dad isn't actually a bad guy" plot feels like a slap in the face to the original story of Garfield and as someone raised by a single mother. I genuinely can't express how depressed this movie made me. I grew up watching Garfield cartoons and reading the comics and was so excited to see a Garfield movie on the big screen. Only for it to be nothing but an almost two hour long commercial of just big company after big company. I mean you are barely 6 minutes into the movie when a woman character delivers a line about making sure to use tinder and bumble and spend the money on the premium packages. Why even throw that type of ad into a children's movie when both of those cites are referred to on line as only hook up sites. Genuinely I cannot put into words how sad I am that there was an opportunity to make a great movie and instead what was given was a pity fest for absent fathers.
