Not gonna lie, I was ready to hate this show. It seemed as if the lord of the rings, my favorite movies and books growing up were going to be hijacked by the woke movement. Only two episodes in, and I was genuinely surprised and found myself enjoying this show more than I enjoyed watching the hobbit. Honestly if Tolkien didn’t have such die hard and knit picking fans, this show would have better reviews. So far it’s the most visually stunning adaptation of Middle earth and the story and characters for the most part are surprisingly likeable. There’s minor differences to Tolkiens work but there’s way more acknowledgment of how great Tolkiens world building was and how it sets up for epic tales. This show explores middle earth lore for the most part honestly and true to tolkiens works.
