Saw Joker: Folie a Deux today, and I must say...not impressed. I loved the first one, and while the main story of this one seemingly *tries* to keep in line with it, the musicality in it actually ruined it for me. I don't know if they added so much singing just because the have Gaga, or what, but it doesn't work. There are 2 spots where the song works, and could be good, but the cast didn't need to sing the entire song and go into a dance number for it. Every time they did this, it takes you out of the movie and into a musical, and by the time you are finally back in to the movie, another song & dance number comes along and pulls you out again. Joaquin is fantastic, and Gaga is a perfectly good actress without having to sing (see AHS: Hotel). If they were to release a version without all the singing, I would see it again. I do think I'll try to watch it again when it comes to streaming, but I'll fast forward through the songs this time. Overall, I suppose I would give it....maybe a 5 or 6/10.
