I thought I'd give Mel Gibson another chance. He's not gonna be around forever. That was my first mistake. The plot was ridiculous. The acting was mediocre. The script and language was forced. Dropping the F-bomb every other word, but then having turn around moments of rated PG discussions; why?
Nothing about it came together. The plot twist at the end was dumb. It felt like an amateur attempt to salvage a train wreck. The conclusion of this movie made me feel embarrassed for the actors that were cast. I can't imagine they'd feel like it was a good piece of cinema. I'd be reluctant to put it in my professional portfolio, but a paycheck is a paycheck I guess.
If you're sick and just need background noise on the TV while napping, this movie is fine. If you're a Mel Gibson fan, save your internal image of him and go rewatch Braveheart. This movie was rather disappointing and doesn't do much to reclaim Gibson's place as a high caliber actor. The best thing I can say about it is that I like the other actors that were chosen. They gave me hope it wasn't gonna be such a dud of a flick.
