I dislike all the characters. They are unrealistic stereotypes that you can’t relate to and all of them feel like cartoon characters. The jokes are lazy, unfunny, and unoriginal because they heavily rely on pop culture references and stupid sex jokes. Every 10 seconds a character will say something related to a comic book and the studio audience bursts out laughing for some reason. Sheldon Cooper is the most inconsistent character, because it is established that he is a very smart person and that he can solve literally every problem, but when someone is making fun of him he turns into a dumb person and doesn’t understand what is going on. Another example would be that when someone is sad he makes mean remakes and makes that person even more sad. If he is so smart, wouldn’t he learn from his mistakes and at least pretend that he cares about that person, like a normal human being? The dialogue feels unnatural and when there is a sad, tender moment I always cringe, because the actors give the most cliched over the top dramatic lines.
If you want to see great comedy sitcoms, I’d recommend The Office and Seinfeld. The Big Bang Theory however is a mediocre, poorly written, and unfunny “show” that will be forgotten as the years go by. I’ve seen every episode and I think I only chuckled at least once an episode.
