This anime is really good. I thought it would be just another mid-tier, formulaic Netflix anime, but it's not. The plot is nothing crazy new, but they find ways to make it interesting, especially with the emotional depth of the characters.
The characters have to contend with the stark reality that they are now mostly alone, on an Earth that has recently recovered from the apocalypse. Luckily, the Japanese government has taken steps to help their survival by leaving behind bunkers with supplies, among other things.
This show follows the journey of mostly 3 different groups, the misfit group, the professional survivalist group, and a civilian group. There are some other characters too, but it's mostly the interactions between the people in these three groups that keep things interesting. In the conflict between the groups, there's a few unbelievable character choices, but I'll let it slide for what is otherwise a great anime.
Would recommend for anyone interested in this genre of anime or just looking for a new anime to try out.
