I was going to give up and then I ended up hate reading this book to the end. I took comfort in reading some of the more absurd passages to my husband who asked me to please stop.
This book is way too long. The confusing narrative dragged on, and then suddenly we’d skip ahead five or maybe ten? years. The plot was convoluted, the dialogue was completely unrealistic (who talks like that?) and the descriptions were a bit too precious. I found myself rolling my eyes on more than one occasion. This book wanted to be an epic John Irving like tale, but it missed the mark.
