Heavily influenced by the much more sophisticated 'Alien' movies by Ridley Scott. It's borrowed so much and has taken from other movies too, albeit loosely with the likes of Apollo 13 and in some respects The Abyss too. I do think that this will become more of a nod to the films of the late 80's/early 90's and will inevitably follow the kind of B movies such as The Blob, for example, from the 1950's but with the advantages of technology and CGI. A full on nerd movie and one for those just like to be entertained for a while.
