Best game of all time. I know you've heard that about countless games at this point, but Factorio is in a league of its own. This game will run on any computer capable of running google, go download the demo RIGHT NOW and try it whenever you have the time. Though I will warn you now, this game can be very challenging; it focuses hard on the game-play and doesn't leave room for too much else. Give your brain a break now and then or else you'll fry it & burn out for a while.
With that said...
If you want to know what Factorio plays like/what the story is/etc., play the demo and see for yourself. Since most of that is subjective anyway, let me point out all the more measurable aspects of the game:
The core game-play loop is polished to an unbelievable sheen; WUBE have gotten the automation, production, and logistics literally down to a science. There is a myriad of great little functions & tricks all throughout the game to the point where the main limiter on how you can handle a problem is your own mental ability to apply the tools given. Stability, performance, and overall game design/progression are the best I've seen. I have never encountered a bug, performance issue, crash, etc. in the 400+ hours played since 1.0, even on a low-spec laptop. Tutorials, graphics, sound, and UI are all great matches for the kind of game Factorio is. All throughout the development process WUBE was unbelievably transparent and constantly in touch with the community to the point of most bugs/issues being rectified within hours of their first reporting, and all of them in the long-term. It has multiplayer, it has possibly the best mod support ever, it even has a full-fledged demo if you didn't notice. This game has challenged me & pushed me further than literally anything I've ever done, and none of that challenge came from arbitrary numerical BS or poor design; everything was a problem of my doing and my solving. There is nothing more I could possibly ask for with the game; it succeeds in everything it set out to do.
