Found the movie engrossing. The beasts were frightful and fascinating in turns. Redmayne was great-a little underplayed, but charming and his relationships with the beasts made him lovable. Enjoyed the playing off the muggle guy-Jacob. Loved the corny, happy ending.

I really enjoy this show. It may be partly because my parents were Canadian. But I do enjoy the characters beautiful and consistent period setting. The historical references are interesting and accurate for the ten or so episodes I’ve seen. ( I hadn’t seen CBC for years until moving to Ann Arbor and getting Uverse.) Would like to see the woman coroner return.
