Absolutely love the trilogy. Make it a point to watch them all at least once every year. I was really looking forward to this especially when it was suppose to come out right with John Wick 4. Well . . . this was a waste. Nothing more than hot garbage, disappointed in virtually every way possible. Everything I love about the originals is gone or done in such a lower quality I can’t enjoy it. First the writing was just bad, so much cringe that it turned into a parody of the franchise. This didn’t feel like the amazing layered world that we had been given. It was like someone new who only read a basic breakdown of the originals made this movie. Constantly hit over the head with memberberries. The action was horrible and basic. Nothing beyond a typical C grade action movie which is insulting to the first two. The change in abilities that Neo has doesn’t make sense along with the fact someone else can now do things beyond the human mind. Spoilers ***** One of the coolest things about the originals I love especially the first are the Agents. They’ve always been amazing with how they’re uniformed, terrifying and unfeeling. They’re programs . . . Literally Matrix police against the resistance. The fact one of them gained doubt, free will and even got out just didn’t sit right with me. It again felt like it made the unbelievable circumstance of Agent Smith . . . Just no. Also why’re they nerfed into the ground now? Before no one could fight an agent and last more than a little while. Neo was the only one that could win while everyone else that was a top tier fighter just survived long enough to be saved. They were smart, skilled and powerful the things to be feared and would pop up if you weren’t careful because they’re looking for you. In this one they’re not any of those things. At the start they put them there but they aim like storm troopers. They have emotion and act human which goes against everything they did before. Seriously the new one has flashbacks of going to the gym! They’re programs that take control of software (humans inside the matrix) they don’t have lives like normal people!!! The train scene has this new part where people can be turned into dumb weak zombies but why didn’t an agent just take control of a body and 1v5 them? The agent would win soooo why? Just disappointed and not sure why I expected them to live up to the first three. Only thing I can say is Keanu was still tolerable and looked great. Seriously let the guy do his thing he’s proven multiple times already that despite his age he can pull off the action without the horrible cuts. Can’t wait for John Wick 4 but to me this was a bad fanfic movie with early YouTube quality.
