I read about Toad Road in an old issue of Fangoria and was intrigued. It only took me 7 years to get around to watching it. Toad Road is, if unintentioanlly, a PSA for how gross drugs are and also an urban legend used a metaphor for the ultimate psychedelic experience. The viewer, like the characters, has to differentiate what is really happening and what is mere hallucination. The answer does not come easy if at all. I found this film enjoyable - an uncomfortable watch with dark whimsy and sadness.
