I love both Portrait Artist and Landscape Artist (of the Year) ... I am useless with a paint brush and envy those that are gifted. I am a bit with Frank Skinner (who was the most outspoken and argumentative of presenters!) in that I am often 'disappointed' - even 'outraged' - sometimes at the winners, but only because I am no artist and merely look for an artist that captures a person's likeness. Believing that Portraits should look like the person, I get frustrated when a person is chosen because of some other brilliance. I know I must bow to the judges better (best) judgement, and it only adds to the interest for me. Long may the show continue - I only wish it did not seem so long between seasons..... Excellent! I add to the above which was long since penned ... I have given up now .... since my frustration over the fundamental question as to whether a portrait should look like the sitter seems to just grow. 2024 is even more perplexing. I give up. I am glad it has finished for now. I shall probably change my mind, but at the moment I don't think I will go there again!!!!

I think the children are amazing, but I am permanently nearly switching off because Harry Hill is the pits. He is not funny even for the children - and little Naima had the right idea when she asked how much he was being paid and he was only worth £5. More than that, however, is that his humour is frequently completely inappropriate for where he is and the audience he has. Does he not give any kind of thought to whether 'jokes' are a. funny; b. the right content for children. I despair. Slapstick is I know a matter of personal preference. Innuendo is not even worthy of debate. It is NOT ON on a children's programme.
