Been playing Fifa 22 on PS5 for over a week as I got early access. Here’s my thoughts so far…
- keepers are either way too OP I think to make up for the goalfests we saw last year or will make stupid mistakes. I played against a player yesterday with De Gea- had a simple half hit shot and he just dived over the ball.
- defending is a little better than last year but there will be times where a midget with low PHY can out-jump Ramos. That needs fixing
- passing seems to be broken a little. Players seem to give the ball away too much unless you play a driven pass. I’ll be passing to a team mate 5 yards away from me and it’ll pass to an opponent 10 yard away in a different direction
- crossing feels better this year but I’ve yet to master it. Same with corners
- other than that it feels quicker than 21- maybe a little less realistic but I don’t mind that. It’s a computer game not real life.
There still needs to be some significant control on loot box gambling within the game, as I’ve seen players with teams with all the best players in them and the only way they could have done this is to have spent a significant amount. It’s worth remembering that owning a pair of the best football boots are not going to make you the best player in the world. In the same way that having a team with the best players, just like in real life, isn’t going to win you every game.
Overall a solid 3.5/5 stars. Others that have posted reviews have clearly not yet played the game.
It’s an enjoyable and fun game which FIFA fans will enjoy. I suspect patches will be released in the coming weeks which would boost my rating up to 4/5.
