Peter Jorgensen

A stunning cinematic musical that is better than most. Though it doesn’t quite knock it out of the park, there is so much to love and even adore. Hearing the NY Philharmonic play the score so beautifully is a moving experience. Kushner’s work on the screenplay is full of smarts. The leading actors all have moments of wonder. Some of the songs have been contextualized in new ways that mostly work and sometimes improve them. As a lover of musicals I worried going in to see this. But I am very glad I did.
