I really liked this movie! It was a lot better than the low reviews and Nikolai Coster-Waldau was excellent in his role. If you like gang/prison movies this one has everything you would expect. I felt the writing could have closed the gaps a little better or tied the stories together in the end. Editing could have been more strategic in their use of shots to refine the story.

I love the quality of the actors and the cinematography you come to expect from a highly produced kdrama but I agree with Geoffrey Bunting’s Time article where he writes Queen of Tears falls short of being great. For me the kdrama had almost every cliche element written into the story. You see the obvious formula for binge watching and can guess what will happened next. The cast did a great job creating their characters and I still binged the show so I’d recommend you watch this if you’ve got 16+ hours to spare.

This movie was a waste of my time. The paces was so slow and boring that I gave up half way and I didn’t bother finishing it. The overall story is pretty basic and actors tried to work with their limited script but they were stiff and writing was bland. I wished I had read the reviews first and I respectfully disagree with all those that gave it 3+ stars.

In a world where money holds no limits, three abandoned sisters are part of an elaborate plan of deception, greed and murder. This kdrama had a great cast and an interesting storyline but the writers didn’t fully utilize the cast in their ability to deliver challenging performances or was it the director who held back. I just wished the writer was more clever with the plot twists. Parts of the series were outstanding and others were reminiscent of cheesy kdrama scenes that reminded me this was in fact a kdrama. Wi Ha-Joon and Um Ki-Joon were my favorite actors. Season 1 ended as a full drama series so it will be interesting to see what season 2 holds. I would rate this series 7.5/10. Not sure I’ll be investing in another 12 episodes..

A must watch kdrama. Kim Hye-Soo is outstanding! Series is about a judge who struggles to finds a why of holding juveniles of heinous crimes accountable for their actions while trying to reconcile with her own trauma. This series was gripping and difficult to turn off. 10/10!

Great casting but terrible writing which led many of the actors to have even worst performances. Storyline started out interesting but completely fell apart in the end. The director was just as confused and blew their $60 million budget. I love the main actor Joel Kinnaman and he did the best he could with this role. There wasn’t much chemistry between Joel and Ana de Armas. I’m a huge fan of hers and this was not one of her best moments. I would pass on this movie.

Cheesy predicable writing but gave 1 star for the chemistry between the leads and costume design was gorgeous. Do not waste your time on this movie.

This anime had popped up in my Netflix suggestion for so long and I finally caved in. I hesitated to watch this anime because of its relatively low rating but all the critics got this one wrong! It’s a gorgeous anime with an interesting and intricate storyline. If the biggest criticism is the music score, I can live with that.. This is not my typical genre but when you have a well produced anime, does it really matter what genre it’s from? I loved it!!! Watch the first episode and judge for yourself ❤️

This show has all of the elements of a "Korean drama" which in my view combines aspects of a telenovela (such as tragedy, a love triangle, and deception) with gorgeous cinematography, talented actors and fantastic production. Some moments were cheesy and there could be better chemistry among the 2 lead actors but overall engaging storyline and of course ultimately addictive. Lee Minh Ho does shine the brightest on screen with his ability to charm, captivate and make you believe. I like the villain, Lee Jung-Jin as Lee Rim a well defined character in the story. He's convincing and clever. I'm hoping Kim Go-Eun finds her grove with writers' version of her character as the show progresses. The ditsy clueless damsel dialog from the writers does not help her define the character as strong, intelligent and competent detective. Stand out character is the handsome Woo Do-Hwan as Jo Yeong/Jo Eun-Seob creating 2 separate and distinct characters. Looking forward to how the story unfolds..
